On Monday, August 24th, Tompkins Square Park played host to a special community-based event called Skater Intervention. Organized by Joyce Aguero-Matos and friends, the goal of the event was to create conversation within the NYC skate community about sexual abuse and assault, supporting survivors, promoting equality, and making women feel comfortable and respected within skateboarding.
