We constructed a space where students felt a sense of community that was friendly, welcoming and safe, where they experienced a sense of mutual respect between students and instructors, were able to learn at their own pace, and feel comfortable asking for help. “…It’s not like school…You get a lot more freedom here…” |
Values of a Positive Learning Environment:

- Working as a collective towards a common goal/project.
- The curriculum supports creativity and expression, offering myriad opportunities to take risks and feel challenged.
- Failure doesn’t feel scary because making mistakes is treated as an essential part of the learning process.
