The BROWNSVILLE SKATE PROJECT
The Brownsville Skate Project is a collaborative partnership between Harold Hunter Foundation and L+M Development Partners, the Brownsville SportZone initiative, the Medgar Evers Beacon program, the Frederick Douglas Boys & Girls Club teen program, and Environmental Hood Restoration to provide access and exposure to skateboarding through free skateboarding clinics to Brownsville youth in Betsy Head Skatepark in Brooklyn.
Through regular programming and events, we create opportunities for Brownsville youth to engage in an active and meaningful (but not overly structured) ways with HHF Coach Mentors, participate in adult-led structured activities with local adult mentors, educators, and leaders, and collectively build a strong, vibrant, and cohesive Brownsville skate community.
HHF Coach Mentors provide skate clinics weekly during the fall, spring and summer open to registered children aged 5-17. You can register for our Fall 2022 clinics - which start on October 12, 2022 - on LeagueApps here.
